As announced by Georgian Ambassador to the UK, Sophie Katsarava, three (out of four) Georgian honey producers won London International Honey Awards (LIHA) 2021 for the first time.
Namely, companies Nena, Rukhi Queen and cooperative RK Kodi received Silver Quality Awards. There are also Platinum, Gold and Bronze awards. In total, four Georgian honey brands received Silver Quality Awards: Nena Chestnut and Nena Jara Chunk (by Nena), Alpida (by Cooperative RK Kodi) and Rukhi Queen (by Rukhi Queen).
According to the Embassy of Georgia to the UK, this is one of the steps for the promotion of Georgian honey on the British market, which might result in an increased export. Currently, the UK is the fifth-largest market for honey imports in the world.
