the painting is being sold by non other than the famous fashion house label valentiono's cofounder Giancarlo Giammetti, he is an Italian collector and will be selling the painting for $50 million. If the work reaches its low estimate, it will be among the most expensive works by the artist ever sold at auction. The painting will go on view at Christie’s outpost in Hong Kong on April 28 and then travel to New York ahead of its sale.
An 1888 Vincent van Gogh painting will be offered at Christie’s in a 20th century art auction in New York on May 13. Titled Le Pont de Trinquetaille (1888), the work is estimated to sell for $25 million–$35 million.

One of the final paintings the artist made in 1970, the year of his suicide, this work was acquired by a private collector from the $158 million sale of Bunny Mellon’s estate in 2014. Mellon had acquired the work in 1971. Offered with an estimate upon the request, the whisper number for the painting is in the region of $40 million, which comports with private sales of Rothko’s work and comparable artists.
